BERMUDA FOR A WINTER BREAK

For everyone who is already tired of the ice and snow how about Bermuda for a winter break. At this time of the year there are plenty of regular scheduled flights. Cruises are not available as they stop in October.  One of the best things about a winter break in Bermuda is the price.  Accommodation can be up to 40% less expensive than in the summer months.

The weather is not as hot as the summer months but during the day should usually be a comfortable 20 degrees.

You cannot rent a car in Bermuda but there are plenty of taxis, mopeds, ferries, buses and horse drawn carriages all waiting to take you anywhere you want. If you are the energetic type you can also hire a bicycle.

It may be too cool for swimming but for the windsurfers amongst you the conditions should be great. For those who don’t like the weather to be too hot and humid the temperatures should be more comfortable for you especially if you like walking and exploring.

Bermuda is made up of 150 islands each with pretty pink sandy beaches, deep blue seas, pastel coloured cottages and a gently British atmosphere. Afternoon teas and cricket, lovely colonial style buildings, amazing golf courses, spas, beautiful scenery all make Bermuda a lovely winter destination.

For history buffs Bermuda boasts a wealth of sites, and art aficionados won’t be disappointed  with Bermuda’s world-class museums and galleries. There are plenty of walking tours of the historic sites. An abundance of churches, forts, parks, mansions, villages and historic towns.

For nature lovers there is rolling green countryside, weathered caves with incredible stalactites and stalagmites, marshes, parks, scenic walks and floral gardens. For bird watchers there are more than  120 species, including orchid orioles, purple finches and rough legged hawks. The best time for bird watching on the islands is December through to May, so perfect for your winter break.

If you just want to relax and have fun, then Bermuda is the place for you. There are plenty of restauants, clubs, bars, attractions, markets, artisan centers, aquariums, zoos and so much more. If you like to shop you will really enjoy yourself here.  It has premium brands at low prices and no sales tax. So have a good time in Bermuda’s quaint shops.  The goods come from all over the world so there is sure to be plenty to please everyone, from arts and crafts, hand made Cuban cigars, jewelry, to clothing. This place is a shopping Mecca.
