Las Vegas is found in Nevada. Its location is strategic in that it falls near the Arizona and California borders. The other town that borders Las Vegas city is Los Angeles, which is about 245 miles away. The city is characterized by desert climatic conditions, receiving an annual rainfall of approximately 2inches.

The city is very vibrant and is regarded as the largest playground in the world for adults. This is due to the gambling activities that are found almost everywhere through the numerous casinos. Entertainment in the city is ever present, no matter what time that one visits. The city was actually created by a reputed gangster, Bugsy Siegal, who was later shot dead in 1947 before fully witnessing his dream come true. However, today the same legacy seems to have been carried forward with gangs owning and controlling the casinos and the gambling.

Las Vega boasts of over 38 million visitors annually. Of the fifteen largest hotels in the USA, fourteen are located in Las Vegas. The greatest attractions to the city are gambling and entertainment.  These two industries are still the largest in the city. Much of the adult play takes place on one avenue which runs from southern fringe all the way to the old downtown, sometimes commonly known as the Las Vegas Boulevard. Some of the major casinos on the Boulevard include the New York Casino, the Luxor Casino, the Eifel Tower of Paris casino, the Stratosphere casino among many more others.

Despite the gangster life in Las Vegas, it is interesting to note that many people still tie the knot here. In fact, there are couples who travel from far and wide, their destination being Las Vegas, in order to wed there. Another interesting thing to note is that almost all the major casinos in the city have wedding chapels or special rooms designated for this purpose. The reason for the high number of visitors seeking marriage here is due to the fact that the marriages are usually considered as ‘quick-an-easy’.

Entertainment in Las Vegas can be traced back to the times of its founder, Bugsy Siegel. Gambling has always gone side by side with flowing liquor and extravagant forms of entertainment. Such extravagance is always witnessed in the ever-present Las Vegas Shows in the city. The original versions of these shows featured mainly variety shows. Nowadays, people who visit this city are guaranteed of many entertainments no matter the evening that they are visiting. Moreover, most of the latest shows are and productions are more extravagant than the older forms of entertainment.

Most of the restaurants in Las Vegas are usually found in the casinos, though some exist independently as well. Visitors can try out the all-you-can-eat buffet, which is a common casino culture. It is usually tailored to attract gamblers to the casinos, hence in most cases the buffet s are very cheap.

Lastly, as far as tourist attractions are concerned, Las Vegas is not all about gambling. It is located next to one of the eight wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon National Park, the Death Valley National Park and the Zion National Park, all which are 150 miles each to the east, west and north east of the city respectively.
